Biography
Sofia has competed in multiple competitions, earning high ratings and growing at each turn. Her accomplishments include invitations to FMEA Allstate Choir for 5 years straight from 2016 to 2020, FVA Solo and Ensemble District and State from 2018 to 2019 receiving straight superiors, National Association of Teachers of Singing district competition in 2019 and 2022, Miami-Dade County Fair Performing Arts Vocal Competitions in 2019 receiving First Premium Award, Special Award, and more.

Faith, Dedication, and Passion
Sofia Blanco is a Cuban-American soprano, born and raised in Miami, Florida. She has received her Bachelors in Music at Florida State University studying under baritone Cole Bellamy, soprano Blythe Reed-Banks, and renowned Metropolitan Opera soprano Marcy Stonikas. Performing in shows such as Die Zauberflöte, La Hija de Rappaccini, and the role of "Luisa Fernanda" in Luisa Fernanda, her passion and love for the art of song reflects into the hearts of her audience.
Sofia’s love of music does not stop at the opera house, but instead spills out into her community. Cantoring at her church Saint John Neumann, performing at weddings across South Florida, and rocking out with local bands continues to be her life blood. Whether it be Mariachi, Rock and Roll, Boleros, Praise and Worship, or Classical, her thirst for sharing musical poetry knows no bounds whatever the genre.
Sofia’s wide variety of repertoire includes selections in English, Spanish, Latin, Italian, German, and French. From opera to rock, from theatre to boleros, her flexibility as a musician has opened many opportunities to both perform and lead. Sofia has performed at multiple churches in South Florida for masses, weddings, funerals, and more. Along with these sacred performances, Sofia has also organized and performed in several fundraisers for varying local organizations.
Sofia is so excited to continue collaborating, performing, teaching, and leading throughout South Florida.
